Pink Moves

I love pink. Love pink fabric in particular. But I have two boys who will take a little pink but not too much. A pink shirt, shall we say, or a pink cup to drink out of.

I am getting my pink fix at the moment making this for a special little princess I know.

I've been neglecting the blog as I'm known to do occasionally! The reason is that we are moving home to NZ in less three weeks! I don't have to pack as we have people coming in to do it (Hallelujah - I've moved so many times that this one may have done my head in) but I do have to organise, organise, organise!

And catch up with all the sewing I've promised to do before I leave!!!

Holidaze

Well, it's the last day of the school holidays for us. The last day before my little munchkin man is a big school boy! Granted, he is only going for a couple of hours tomorrow, and then it's the ruddy weekend, which beggars belief as far as I'm concerned - why the hell not start them all on Monday?! Oh well, ho hum.

We've had a lovely relaxing time. Dad has jacked in the job, finally and we can all hang out together for a while.

Our holidays have consisted of...

Camping

 Surfing

Cuddling

 Climbing

 Running

Welcoming

Golfing

Plus lots of Sleeping, and Mooching!!

We've just been golfing at the Par 3 in Studley Park. Bit too hot for me, but we all had a fab time and I can still hit a decent ball some of the time despite the eight or so years that I haven't picked up a club.

I have done a teeny bit of sewing and cooking. When the temperature rises, I can't be bothered with anything that involves a hot oven, cooktop or barbecue! And venturing into my sewing room on a hot day is a fool's errand!

We're moving back to NZ in a month or so! I'm off over next week to check out schools.

See, I told you I've been a good girl!

Tomorrow is B Day! - I've unpacked her from the box, watched the most informative instructional DVD, swooned every time I've looked at her in the last 48 hours....
Time to start her up!

Teacher's gifts

I'm half way through. Still got the Rocky Road to cut up and bag, Peanut Butter, White Choc and Sea Salt Biccies to make and one more Fabric basket to make.

Now we're off to see Santa!!!

Sunday Snippets

For my Dad, for Christmas - finally finished after starting it in 2007! Hope it's worth the wait. Couldn't resist the windy photos on this blustery day in Old Melbourne Town!

I've been a very good girl....

...so Santa, will you please bring me one of these little beauties?!

Foolishly, I went into the Sewing centre for some white thread. I was thinking of an upgrade to a machine that so I could do my larger size quilts instead of having to send them off to be quilted. I was looking at a larger Janome but I was lured by her Swiss charms (and the Stitch Regulator) She costs an awful lot of money, even on sale. Sigh.

Sunday Snippets

What did Sunday bring for me? I nice lie in with the little lads, watching silly movies in bed, eggs, bacon, avo and chorizo for breaky, plus a great big cappuccino, then...

...did a bit more quilting on the cot quilt I started a few months back,...

...then realized I needed to make these 8 placemats in a hurry...,
 ...had trouble choosing the binding

...was required to view the lads playing Xbox, so did a bit of hand-quilting...

...made these for Meg in the Beehive bee.

I then went to Target to get the NZ Christmas pressies. I also got a few items of the undie variety, and a most (un)attractive "foundation" undergarment. As I was called forth from the queue, I realized, to my horror, that the young man on the till was my friend Lisa's teenage son. I hope that he will remember me for the lovely cake he ate last week that I baked, not my granny undies!!

Is it any wonder that I had to buy these at the supermarket to placate myself?
A bit of Tangy Bliss is all you need sometimes!
